Dr. Tressler enjoys life on her acreage with her 10 fur kids. All but one- Zoe the corgi were all special needs kids. Sheba the 3 legged German Shepherd was a "hit by car". She has a titanium plate and screws in her pelvis; she can still outrun all of the other kids. Benny a 9 year old German Shepherd came with severe allergies and perianal fistulas that needed to be managed by daily application of special ointment compounded at the pharmacy. Daisy the Golden Retriever had parvo at 8 weeks of age. Ike the Cocker Spaniel also had parvo at 8 weeks of age. both recovered nicely with no lasting effects. Flopsy is a 7 yearold Bischon (we affectionately call her a "Pit- Bischon", she thinks she is a pit bull- not so much). Penny is an 11 year old Beagle that was an adoption failure from LaPlace Louisiana- so home she came with me during my third year in vet school. Panda Sue (or the "Flying Monkey" as we call her at the clinic) was 1/3 the size of the rest of the Pekenese in the litter and failing to thrive. Today she is a spunky 11 lb and she thinks she is a Golden Retriever( whom she grew up with). Bear, an Australian Shepherd came to live on the farm due to behavior problems( which he still has but we manage). Ace, a 1 and 1/2 year old Border Collie is the newest member to our "Funny Farm". He was starting to act out with his first mom- I think he was bored- after a few days with his new siblings he is now an extravert!!!!!! A little bit too much of an extravert!
